Coronavirus Outbreak Derails Crypto Conferences

Hey ninja’s, how’s the trading going? At press time, the crypto market is trading sideways with the largest cryptocurrency Bitcoin trading at $8,731 and is reporting 4.02% daily losses.

Since the COVID-19 outbreak, several businesses in china have terminated operations to avoid spreading the virus. So far, the coronavirus is affecting two (2) major crypto conferences in the United States.

The Bitcoin 2020 event which was scheduled to be held in San Francisco on the 27th and 28th of March has been postponed to the third quarter of the year following a state of emergency declaration by the state’s governor.

The announcement also notes that all already purchased tickets for events shall automatically be transferred to the new date, and also for participants who would like a refund are asked to wait until the new dates are announced.

The DC Blockchain Summit 2020 has also been rescheduled but the dates are yet to be confirmed. The United States is not the only region where crypto events are being delayed because of the virus.

It was reported earlier in the week that the Paris blockchain conference which was to be held at the end of March has been postponed to the end of the year. In Asia, several crypto conferences have also been delayed or postponed because of the coronavirus.
