Crypto Site CCN Announces Shutdown Reportedly Caused by Google 2019 June Update

Ninja’s, the price of Bitcoin is up again and is currently trading at $7,950, I hope the recent drop in price of most of the top crypto’s did not cause any significant losses in your trading, in other news a google core update is causing a visibility issue for both crypto and non – crypto sites.

According to an announcement on CCN Website by the director and founder, Jonas Borchgrevink of CCN on the 10th of June which stated that the crypto site traffic fell over 71% on mobile overnight and experience a major drop in searches after a google core update.

Borchgrevink noted that the traffic levels for the crypto site had been low, new members were also added and the site cannot continue to operate in its current condition on advertiser revenue. The announcement also noted that other crypto sites seem to be facing the same problems, crypto news site CoinDesk reportedly saw a 34.6% drop, while Cointelegraph reportedly dropped 21.1%. He further noted that not only crypto sites are suffering from the new update, he stated that British Tabloid The Daily Mail has also seen a significant drop in Visibility.

The founder stated that they will be moving the CCN team to HVY, a journalist news platform. The Daily mail has reportedly lost half of its organic websites, there have been speculations that the loss of visibility issue is being caused by “clickbait” headlines but the announcements note that the reason for the issue has yet to be found.

“Unless someone – anyone – who actually worked on the June 2019 Core Update at Google explains what is going on, all we can do is to guess, speculate and experiment as far as our bank accounts allow us to.”
