Top cryptos surfer moderate losses as Bitcoin Hovers over $7,000

On Sunday, May 12th most of the top cryptos reported moderate losses by press time. Bitcoin was reported down about 1.5% on the day and was trading at $7,040 and is still down 6% from its midday high of $7,500.

The largest altcoin Ether holds on to its position at the top and is currently at $20 billion, followed by Ripple’s (XRP) the second largest altcoin which has a market cap of $13.4 billion at press time.

ETH is down over 2.25% over the last 24 hours and is trading around $189 through the coin has reported a significant increase on the week by over 16%.

Messari Ryan Selkis (CEO of Crypto analytics firm) recently predicted that Ethereum version 2.0’s transition to proof – of – stake (POS) would not take place until 2021.

On the week, XRP coin has risen over 6% and is currently trading at around $0.317. XRP is down just a fraction of a percent in the last 24 hours.

Only three coins on the top 20 cryptocurrencies are posting gains on the day to press time; these coins are Bitcoin cash (BCH), binance coin (BNB) and dash(DASH) are all green up to 2.5%.

The total market capitalization of all cryptocurrencies is $212 billion at press time, over 17% higher that than the value it reported a week ago.
