The digital privacy software Tor, is now accepting donations in various digital currencies as they have now introduced a digital asset tab on their project’s website.

The site now accepts nine major cryptocurrencies, namely Bitcoin (BTC), Monero (XMR),  Ethereum (ETH), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Dash (DASH), Litecoin (LTC), Stellar Lumen (XLM),  Monero (XMR), Augur (REP) and Zcash (ZEC).

Tor's crypto gift page urges clients to "go to bat for the general human rights to protection and opportunity and help keep Tor hearty and secure." The page additionally determines that clients can contact the project on the off chance that they would want to give in a cryptocurrency not recorded there.

The Tor Project is a non-benefit that offers free and open-source programming made for onion routing, the technology of unknown data exchange. Furthermore, Tor has two authority forms of its program: Tor Browser and TorBro. The principle motivation behind utilizing the Tor Browser is to stay mysterious and circumnavigate oversight by masking an IP-address.

There are some Countries wherein the internet has been heavily controlled, such as Russia, Venezuela and China, have all introduced restrictions on Tor and other similar tech, such as virtual private networks.

Earlier this month, the head of the Finance Committee of France National Assembly suggested a ban on anonymous cryptocurrencies or so-called privacy coins, such as ZEC and XMR.

The Tor group and crypto network both offer an ethos of protection and decentralization.
