On the 9th of September, Jay Clayton, chairman of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) spoke with CNBC's Bob Pisani on Bitcoin (BTC) exchange-traded fund (ETFs).
The United States SEC chairman stated that important steps have been taken to address concerns regarding Bitcoin ETF, he was then asked by Pisani if the people in the Bitcoin sector have come any closer to satisfying his concerns and he answered “yes, but there is more work to be done”.
He further explained that SEC questions are not trivial, he explained that trades are made on largely unregulated exchanges and there is no proof that the prices have not been manipulated. Jay Clayton formerly mentioned that the SEC has been looking into making Bitcoin ETFs possible for United States investors but custody is a serious cause for concern.
